South Whidbey football teams gear up for fall season

The South Whidbey Football League will hand out essential playing gear for all three teams on Wednesday, July 23.

Gear handouts will be at 5 p.m. for juniors, 6 p.m. for midgets and 7 p.m. for pee-wees at 3498 Daisy Lane in Clinton.

Practice begins at 5 p.m. Monday, July 28 near Castle Park at the Community Park.

A second gear day will be held three days into practice at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 30.

Players should bring a copy of their birth certificate. The $55 fee must be paid for players to participate.

Firearm safety classes forming

The Central Whidbey Sportsmen’s Association will host firearm safety classes in August.

Classes include gun safety, state game laws, game animal habitat and more. All four classes must be attended for completion, and pre-registration is required.
