South Whidbey girls lose in hoops to Red Raiders

Though they outscored Bellingham 19 to 9 in the fourth quarter, the South Whidbey girls basketball team fell 62-44 to the Red Raiders on Tuesday in the final non-conference game of the season.

The Falcons are 2-4 in the league standings.

Falcon Lindsey Newman led all players with 23 points, followed by Jessica Manca with 12 and Taylor Pope with four. Newman has 158 points after six games to lead the league.

On Tuesday, Jan. 13, the girls travel to Sultan for their second cascade Conference outing.
