The South Whidbey football team (4-3 in the Cascade Conference and 5-3 overall) will begin its district playoff schedule at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6 at Burlington High School.

First up are the Burlington-Edison Tigers (7-2 overall, with losses to Squalicum and Lynden) of the Northwest League.

"If we lose, the season is over," said Falcon co-coach Mark Hodson. "If we win, we'll enter the first round of state playoffs."

But will they win?

"It's anybody's guess; that's why we play the game," Hodson noted.
