In a dual meet at Cedarcrest on Thursday, South Whidbey wrestlers Evan Thompson (130-pound weight class), Van Morgen (152) and Daniel Childers (171) won their matches.

“Cedarcrest is the class act this year in the league,” said Falcon coach Jim Thompson. “They’ve beaten up everybody, so these three guys had a great showing, all things considered.”

Thompson pinned Tom Robinson with 1:09 seconds left in the second round. Morgen beat John Matwichuk on a decision and Childers pinned Roy Davidson with .56 left in the second round.

Cedarcrest won the match 62-15. South Whidbey forfeited three weight classes.

Today, Thompson is taking the team to the Everett Classic, which features

20 tough teams from around the state. At 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, the Falcons welcome the Sultan Turks to Erikson Gym.
