Boys Basketball: South Whidbey beats Granite Falls

The South Whidbey boys basketball team rallied from a one-point deficit in the first quarter to beat Granite Falls 78-60 on Tuesday.

The Falcons improve to 2-3 in league action, 4-7 overall. The Tigers remain in the cellar at 0-6, 0-12.

Falcon Riley Newman led scoring with 27 points (he leads the conference with 252), Sean George and Tyler "Chuck" Norris had 10 each, Andy Bennett had nine and Jordan Thornley contributed four buckets for eight points.

At 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26 — immediately after the Falcon girls game — the boys welcome inter-island rival Coupeville (5-2, 10-3) to Erikson Gym.
