March 5, 2010 · 5:04 PM
South Whidbey Little League will be holding tryouts for baseball and softball this Saturday, March 6 at South Whidbey Community Park.
Girls age 8 to 14 will try out from 10 a.m. to noon. Boys’ tryouts for ages 9-10 are from 10 a.m. to noon; for boys 11-14, the tryout is noon to 2 p.m.
Registration forms are required and are available at the park on Saturday, or can be downloaded from the league Web site at www.eteamz.com/swllb. Scholarships are available if cost is a factor.
Players must submit a registration form, medical release form, concussion acknowledgment form and Parent Code of Conduct agreement to be eligible to participate. Sign-ups for players age 5-8 can be done at the same time, but those don’t attend tryouts.
A group evaluation for players age 7-8 will be held at Dan Porter Park at 5:30 p.m. on March 29. Players age 5-6 will be evaluated at 5:30 p.m. on March 30 at Dan Porter Park. Sign-ups for these evaluations will be accepted until Friday, March 26.
