Falcon golfers Shane Thompson and Harrison Price of South Whidbey High School narrowly missed the cut at the 29th annual Bill Egber’s Memorial Golf Tournament late last week at the par-72 Skagit Golf & Country Club. The cut line was 78 to qualify for the second day’s final round.

Price shot 80, Thompson an 84 in the invitation-only event on May 7.

Kamiak golfer Mark Strickland turned in rounds of 71 and 70 to claim victory in the tournament, which frequently draws many of the top prep boys’ golfers from across the state.

“Conditions were great, with sunny skies, a light breeze and fast greens,” said Falcon coach Steve Jones. “The boys played well, but it just wasn’t their day.”
