South Whidbey junior White places first in Kirkland half-marathon

South Whidbey High School junior Chantal White placed first in the age-15-to-19 division at the Kirkland Half-Marathon on May 9.

She ran the 13.1-mile course in one hour, 39 minutes,

26 seconds. Her time placed her first in her division and 14th out of 685 entrants in the women’s division, and she was 80th of the total 1,087 runners on the course.

In April, White also won her division at the Whidbey Island Half-Marathon.

White is currently playing center field for the South Whidbey High School fastpitch softball team and also runs cross country for the Falcons.
