Blaine takes down South Whidbey in softball

The Blaine Borderites shut out the South Whidbey fastpitch softball team 11-0 at the

2A Northwest District Tournament on Thursday at Janicki Fields in Sedro-Woolley.

In the second of the two-game double elimination schedule, the Falcons lost 6-4 to Burlington-Edison, ending the season.

Overall, South Whidbey finished the year with an 11-7 winning record in league play,

11-9 overall. They were second in the league, behind Granite Falls.

“The girls played very well all year, won some tough games and showed a lot of poise and dedication to the game,” said Falcon coach Don Wood.
