Falcon wrestlers place fourth at Darrington Invite, win dual tourney

South Whidbey’s wrestling team placed fourth at the Darrington Invite on Jan. 16 and defeated a combined team of Granite Falls and Lakewood, 36-15.

South Whidbey’s wrestling team placed fourth at the Darrington Invite on Jan. 16 and defeated a combined team of Granite Falls and Lakewood, 36-15.

Falcon juniors Hunter Newman (145 pounds) and Trevor Kleinfelder (170) placed second at Darrington, while sophomore Julian Fifield (126) and junior Jack Nielsen (152) placed third.

Wrestling against a combined team of Granite Falls and Lakewood, freshman Aryeh Rohde (120), Kleinfelder, junior Logan Madsen (182) and junior Chase Barthlett (285) earned pins. Newman won by technical fall, while senior Madison Evans (160) and Fifield won by decisions.
