Falcons claim 5th in par-3 tournament / Boys golf

The South Whidbey High School boys golf team shot a 286, good for fifth place at the seventh annual Viking Par 3 Shootout Tuesday, March 19, at the Battle Creek Golf Course.

South Whidbey was the only 1A school in the six-team contest. Four were 4A teams and the other 3A.

Host Lake Stevens took first place with a 243 on the par-54, 18-hole course.

Gabe Jacobson-Ross led the Falcons with a 64, eighth among the 36 competitors.

Brent de Wolf shot 70, Dane Saxton 76, Lewis Mattson 76, Soren Bratrude 77 and Kellen Eager 85.

Lake Stevens’ Cameron Webb earned medalist honors with a 56.

South Whidbey plays in the Everett Invitational at noon Thursday, March 21, at the Legion Memorial Golf Course.
