The South Whidbey High School tennis team picked up two wins at the Bi-district/Emerald City League Championships Friday, Oct. 19, at the Amy Yee Tennis Center in Seattle.
Levi Buck collected a 6-3, 7-6(4) win in the loser-out first round and advanced to the double elimination portion of the tournament.
There he dropped his next two matches, 6-3, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-4.
Brent Batchelor lost his opening match 6-0, 6-1.
In doubles, Joey Lane and Brent de Wolf followed the same path as Buck. The Falcon duo won the first contest 6-2, 6-0, then fell 6-0, 6-2 and 6-0, 3-6, 6-2.
Ranger Buck and Cormac Workman lost their opener 6-2, 6-1.
The tournament marked the end of the season for the Falcons.
The top two finishers in singles and doubles in the tournament advance to the state tournament next spring.
