Picking up its first win at a good time, the South Whidbey High School tennis team tripped visiting Friday Harbor 4-1 Tuesday, March 26.

The Falcons dropped their first two matches this season but beat the Wolverines in the one that mattered, the North Sound Conference opener.

South Whidbey (1-0, 1-2) heads to Granite Falls (0-0, 1-3) for another league match at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 28.

Singles: 1, Farriss Jokinen won 6-1, 6-2; 2, Ashley Ricketts won 6-1, 6-1.

Doubles: Alison Papritz/Mary Zisette won 6-1, 6-0; 2, Jenna Pheiffer/Elizabeth Simmons lost 6-4, 6-7, 10-8; 3, Chloe Loehr/Oliana Stange won 6-4, 6-3.
