McKinley, Adams finish 1st in South Whidbey Invitational / Golf

Buz McKinley and Kris Adams posted the low gross scores to lead the field at the 46th annual South Whidbey Invitational at the Useless Bay Golf and Country Club Friday and Saturday, July 20 and 21.

Brian Stanton and Martha Carrier were the net leaders in the tournament, which featured 123 players.

McKinley, a past champion, topped the men with a 147 gross score over two rounds, one stroke better than Stanton, who made a run at McKinley Saturday with a tournament-best round of one-under 71. Stanton carded a net 136.

Adams led the women with a 169; Carrier was the net leader with a 146.

Longtime club member Bill Hahn provided one of the highlights of the invitational with a hole-in-one on No. 7 Saturday.

The flight rankings were determined by Stableford scoring for 36 holes.
