When the South Whidbey boys start high school soccer playoffs on Saturday, they will be trying to kick their way out of the basement.
The Falcons lost two games between Friday and Monday, dropping themselves into losing territory late in the season as their record fell to 7-8.
Though their home invitational was only two days away, the Falcon boys and girls track teams couldn't get out of the habit of excelling Thursday and continued to compete as though they were already in the post season.

In a meet that was almost over before it began Thursday, South Whidbey wrestlers pinned three straight opponents to start the event and cruised to a 52-21 win over Granite Falls.
