South Whidbey collects win in 3-team match / Boys golf

Led by a balanced attack, the South Whidbey High School boys golf team defeated Archbishop Murphy and Cedar Park Christian Monday, April 15, at the Useless Bay Golf and Country Club.

The Falcons shot 249, topping Archbishop Murphy with 271. CPC did not qualify for a team score.

The Wildcats’ Zach Leonen earned medalist honors with a 38, but South Whidbey posted four of the five next best scores.

Gabe Jacobson-Ross took second individually with a 45, followed by Brent de Wolf at 48 and Dane Saxton and Soren Bratrude with 50 each. Lewis Mattson carded a 56, and Kellen Eager had a 66.

South Whidbey hosts Marysville Getchell, Marysville-Pilchuck and Snohomish at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 17.
