South Whidbey wins league matches; boys take title / Boys, girls golf

The South Whidbey High School boys and girls golf teams both collected conference wins Thursday, April 25.

The Falcon boys defeated Sultan 240-302 at the Blue Boy Golf Course, while the girls topped King’s 71-20 in Stableford points at the Useless Bay Golf and Country Club.

The boys ran their North Sound Conference record to 3-0 and clinched the league title.

Gabe Jacobson-Ross earned medalist honors while shooting a 43 for the South Whidbey boys. Dane Saxton was just one stroke back at 44, Lewis Mattson shot 48, Brent de Wolf 49 and Brady Hezel 56.

Emma Leggett paced the girls with 26 Stableford points, followed by Tori Schuller (19), Olivia Varga (12), Alyssa Ludtke (8), Caitlin Sullivan (6) and Bella Pierce (5).

The boys face Snohomish at 3 p.m. Monday, April 29, at the Snohomish Golf Club.

The girls will compete in the Suncadia Invitational at 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 30.
