Freeland’s newest bookstore plans a grand opening early next month, according to Katie Ginn, one of the owners.

Book Lovers Book Store at 1694 Main St. has been open for several weeks, and will celebrate its grand opening on Tuesday, Feb. 1.

The first 50 customers at the grand opening each will receive a new book from among 20 titles free with a purchase of $10 or more, Ginn said. Further specials will continue during the month, she added.

Ginn said the store has more than 5,000 used books, CDs, DVDs, toys and gifts, all at half price or less, many of them priced less than $4. Trades can be made in exchange for other books or store credit, she added.

She said the store offers primarily used books, but has a number of new books, too, in its 800 square feet.

Ginn, of Langley, said she has operated an online bookstore for years.

“This is my first brick-and-mortar store,” she said. “I needed a larger space, and this was a natural transition.”

Ginn’s partner in the bookstore is Kathy McCoy of Clinton, who will display her Native American art.

The store is open from noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
