Letter: Amazon should be encouraged to fix delivery issues

I am, like most of us here on the south end of the island, concerned and frustrated about our package delivery situation, and the fact that our Post Office delivery people are working themselves to exhaustion. They are working 16-18 hour days, six days a week; and in spite of that, they still can’t keep up.

The mail carriers are stressed and quitting their jobs in frustration, which leaves even fewer people to do the job. I was frustrated because I could think of nothing I could do to help, except what I did, which was to write to the CEO of Amazon and ask for his help. I asked him if we could be given the same help that the north end of our island has received, which is an Amazon hub and Amazon delivery trucks to help deliver his customer orders.

I received a response back from his assistant stating that they were working on the problem, but no indication that they were willing to provide delivery trucks.

I’m writing here to encourage everyone who reads this to write to him as well; I think if he could see the magnitude of the problem and how many of his customers were being inconvenienced, maybe it would be enough to encourage him to provide help.

His contact information is: Mr. Andy Jassy, Chief Operating Officer, Amazon.com Inc. 410 Terry Ave. North, Seattle, WA 98109. His email address is: ajassy@amazon.com.

Please take a few minutes to write him. Something else you can do to help is sign up to have your Amazon orders delivered all on one day of the week, it’s called Amazon Day Delivery. It will save multiple trips to deliver your orders. Please let’s work together and try to end this situation plaguing us all.
