Letter: Ask leaders to support bill for early-onset Alzheimer’s

Editor,

There’s a bill coming up in Congress to assist the 200,000 Americans who have early-onset Alzheimer’s.

I’m urging Rick Larsen, Maria Cantwell and Patty Murray to join Congresswomen Jayapal and DelBene in co-sponsoring the Younger-Onset Alzheimer’s Disease Act so families can get the help they need.

I watched a dear friend try to cope with her husband’s early Alzheimer’s, juggling care for their two young kids and their home, her full-time job and all the help her husband desperately needed.

It was heart breaking that she had to do so much while dealing with the emotional toll of watching him disappear, no longer knowing who she or their children were.

Families going through this health emergency need help.

Please ask Larsen, Cantwell and Murray to co-sponsor H.R. 1903/S. 901.

Rick Larsen can be contacted at Rick.Larsen@mail.house.gov or 425-252-3188

Cantwell is at www.cantwell.senate.gov/contact/email.

Patty Murray’s contact is at www.murray.senate.gov/public.
