Letter: Black Lives Matter movement not living up to its name

Editor,

The password of the day seems to be “Black Lives Matter.”

BLM gets credit for organizing protests without controls, which turn into riots and looting.

My question is, when is BLM going to Chicago and actually save black lives? Chicago has between eight and 18 black-on-black homicides ever weekend. Do those lives matter?

Do the lives of the 9-month-old and 11-year-old who were slaughtered matter? Those lives matter to me because those children never had a chance to grow up.

Chicago is just the tip of the iceberg, and BLM can also go to East St. Louis, Detroit and Baltimore and save black lives.

Until such times that BLM lives up to its title, BLM will only be a useless passing phrase.
