Editor,
Thank you for your thorough and balanced article, “3 Candidates Vie for Superior Court Judge.”
Yes, I know it’s early, and the primary isn’t until August.
But I wanted to take this opportunity to offer my support for the best woman for Island Superior Court Judge –- Carolyn Cliff.
Island County has an outstanding Superior Court Justice in Vicki Churchill, who’s retiring.
Churchill wants her reform work to continue – reforms that make it easier for average people to navigate the court system in a timely and fair manner.
Retiring Justice Churchill hopes she’ll be replaced by a woman, and she has endorsed Carolyn Cliff for the position.
Why Carolyn Cliff?
Carolyn has outstanding legal and judicial credentials and experience, and she has been a tough, but fair, pro-tem justice.
But equally important, Carolyn is the person running who sticks up for the little guy.
She is the candidate who meticulously put together and won a case against a high-profile Island County attorney who bilked his clients out of thousands of dollars – and he went to prison for it, thanks to Carolyn.
Carolyn is the candidate who does the in-the-trenches, roll-up-your-sleeves work in the community.
She’s not just a figurehead. She gets out there and does the kind of work that makes our communities better places to live and work and raise families.
As winter turns to spring, and spring becomes summer, we’ll be buried by political information. Maybe you’ll forget about Carolyn Cliff?
I urge everyone: Stick this letter on your refrigerator.
When the August primary and November general elections roll around, it will help you remember to vote for Carolyn Cliff for Island County Superior Court Judge!
