Letter: Disgusted by fiasco created by withdrawal

Editor,

I have had a knot in my stomach since Joe Biden’s botched withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan. I remember the fall of Saigon and had thought our military and leadership had learned from that fiasco.

Apparently not.

The people who are ultimately responsible for the mess in Kabul will probably continue to hold their jobs, point fingers, mostly at President Trump, and slither into the history books as victims of bad intelligence. I believe that while those people should be condemned to the the third ring of hell, the real culprits are those who in 2020 voted for the current fools who run the country.

Why vote for an old incompetent swamp creature just because you didn’t like some offensive tweets? What past actions of Mr. Biden made him a suitable candidate for president of the United States? Instead of being our representatives, our elected politicians act as though they are our masters.

What happened to those nannies who marched under the banner “our bodies, our choice,” or claimed IDs are racist? When did it become OK to steal one’s livelihood by closing their business, or keeping them from collecting rent? Why are illegal entries into this country more important than the citizens they are meant to replace? Why are we expected to pay taxes to support these illegalities without input?

Mind you, it is not just Democrats, but a number of Republicans as well, and I am disgusted. The year 2022 cannot come soon enough.
