Letter: Grateful to have great hospital in small community

Editor,

I moved to Coupeville in November 2019. Over the time period I have lived here, I have read many negative reports about Whidbey Island Hospital.

This has not been my experience. I have needed to visit the hospital three times for medical issues, twice for emergency care and once for a surgery. The experience, from start to finish each time was very good, with no waiting time in urgent care, cheerful and helpful hospital staff and good follow up.

I also signed up to be a volunteer in their hospice program. The quality of the people who handle this program and the services to the community have so impressed me. It is well run, compassionate and very professional.

I am grateful to have had such a great hospital experience in such a small community.
