Letter: Hospital needs better leadership

Editor,

As other contributors have noted, Whidbey Health, over years, has an intractable problem in its half hearted attempts to grow past its own stumblings. While many people are helped, healed and benefitted from clinical care given, the administration has not yet found (or wanted) a leader who can open the doors to an economically viable model which addresses the deep seated ambivalence towards success. This reveals itself both in hiring people who do not possess the training to see the future and remove the impediments and a leadership which is simply put, a war zone replete with a management style of deception and personality. Hiring people who know how to take the hospital into the future is the cure for the chronic disease of the hospital district.
