Letter: It’s time to strike against cowardice

Anyone in America today, right now, who is not totally freaked out about what is happening to our democracy is not paying attention. The president of the United States is using the full force of the American government, through a systematic plan implemented by the State Department and the Justice Department, to coerce foreign leaders to manufacture propaganda against his political opponents. This is right out of “Totalitarianism for Dummies.” Gin up fake evidence, have a fake trial, send them to a real prison. Soviet Union.

This is wrong behavior that undermines the very fabric of our democracy and it’s wrong if it occurs by the president of the United States, the vice president, the secretary of state, the attorney general or any other human being.

Let me here call for a general strike against political cowardice. For all the so called “patriots,” now’s the time to put country above each of our own petty little lives.
