I am voting for Jill Johnson. She is the candidate with actual experience on the job and the depth of knowledge from lifelong residency providing credentials that, I believe, enable her to make the correct and difficult decisions that shape this County now and for many years to come.

Everyone is encouraged to vote and to be an informed voter. I tend to do my homework on candidates whom I do not know well.

The state’s Public Disclosure website displays the diversity of support for candidates and those that may be beholding to special interests.

Jill’s opponent has collected substantial campaign funds from a small number of individuals, many linked to an out-of -state developer who has run up against opposition from Jill and others for his plans for high-density development outside of Oak Harbor City limits and Urban Growth Area.

I believe Jill Johnson is the best candidate for Island County commissioner, District 2.
