I have a suggestion for the letters to the editor section — require them to be short.

I try to read them all so I can say I am exposed to both sides of the political spectrum. The Saturday Whidbey News-Times and South Whidbey Record had one that was over two columns long.

After slogging through it, I got to the end where it said Trump has increased the national moral authority, and I realized I had just wasted a lot more time than I needed to.
