Letter: Law enforcement could have lessened backup during outage

Editor,

There is absolutely no reason that the Washington State Patrol, Oak Harbor police or the Island County law enforcement personnel could not have directed the traffic at the traffic lights at Deception Pass State Park or Whidbey Island Naval Air Station/State Highway 20 intersection during Friday’s power outage.

But no, that would make too much sense. Let folks snake their way north for the better part of an hour or longer on Friday afternoon.

On the other hand, kudos to those of us in that line. We patiently waited and waited and waited.
