Letter: Many came together to make memorial service memorable

Editor,

It is with gratitude for Wallin Funeral Home that I am writing this letter today.

Gratitude for Kelly Davidson, a funeral director, who went above and beyond my expectations of helping me with my husband Michael Mosbrooker’s memorial service on March 5, 2020. Kelly was helpful in making suggestions for the service.

Kelly was empathetic of my feelings. Kelly was remarkable by having Michael’s cremated ashes in the dark green urn with an Army medallion on it for the memorial service in just a day and a half.

And five death certificates, in just a day and a half. Remarkable.

It is also with gratitude for Pastor David Lura, who brought Mike’s love of beagles into his talk during the service.

It brought a smile to all of us who loved Mike. Pastor David’s warm and caring presence at the memorial service was his own tribute to Mike, and was greatly appreciated by me, Michael’s family, and Michael’s friends.

Audrey Butler of the Greenhouse Nursery designed two incredible red, white and blue floral arrangements using one of Mike’s small planes, and a heavy bronze mug that said artillery on it and had a large bullet as a handle.

The small plane appeared to be flying and there were white puffy clouds above it. Nothing short of amazing.

Thank you Kelly Davidson, Pastor David Lura and Audrey Butler, for a memorable memorial service for Michael Mosbrooker.
