Letter: Our island community making a big difference

Editor,

Thanks to Laura Guido for her article, “Making Art to Make a Difference.”

Readers who wish to order Georgia Gerber’s Sheepish Rabbit and/or Settling Owl sculptures may do so by making an online donation to the Whidbey Community Foundation by visiting www.whidbey foundation.org

You will receive a receipt for the IRS by email; and you can pick up your sculpture(s) at the Rob Schouten Gallery in Langley. Or you may donate by check at the gallery.

The WCF website contains information on training workshops for staff and board members of nonprofits, several Community Impact Funds, and a searchable database of about 400 nonprofit organizations on Whidbey Island.

WCF can assist major donors and their attorneys and financial advisors in creating a Donor Advised Fund, a legacy bequest, or other tax-advantaged strategies.

We are grateful to Georgia Gerber and Randy Hudson, the Rob Schouten Gallery, and the supporters of all the nonprofit organizations on Whidbey for their many contributions to our island community.
