Letter: Potholes in road have no pollitical affiliation

Editor,

Here are two reasons why I am voting to re-elect Jill Johnson for Island County commissioner.

One of the arguments against her is the statement that she is too liberal.

There is no such thing as a conservative pothole or a liberal pothole. I want someone who will fund the repair of the potholes. Conservative issues such as abortion and gun control will not be on the county’s agenda.

Location of LIHI and residential treatment facilities in Oak Harbor are zoning issues for Oak Harbor, not the county.

I have serious concerns about Dan Evans’ relationship with developer Scott Thompson.

We have issues with water and traffic here in Oak Harbor. Global warming will progressively melt the snow pack earlier and seriously reduce our water supply in the future.

Traffic has become an issue.

Until State Highway 20 becomes four lanes from Deception Pass to Coupeville, we just don’t need the traffic that large developments will bring.
