On the Island Life page of the July 13 edition of the South Whidbey Record, the two folks to the reverend’s right in the picture for the Pride Picnic are my daughter Marie Jackson and a long-time friend Sean Edwards.

We live in Oak Harbor, and it was at my daughter’s request that we go to a pride picnic event. My requirement was it had to be family friendly. Many times there aren’t just any events that are like this.

It truly brings the heart of Whidbey Island!
