Letter: School Board incumbent Jackson puts health of students first

Editor,

I am writing to cast my vote in favor of Marnie Jackson for school board and to ask you to consider doing the same. As someone who has worked closely with Marnie for the past four years, I can attest to her sense of high integrity, commitment, follow-through, honesty, collaborative spirit and exceptional communication skills.

Marnie advocates for anti-racism, equity, diversity and inclusivity.

All students have the right to feel they are safe, supported and that their voices are heard.

She puts the health and well being of the community first.

Marnie supports wearing masks as a public safety precaution which is allowing our kids to be getting in-person education this year, which they desperately need.

Marnie has kept her kids in public school, rather than putting them in a private school like her opponent did — something that is unaffordable for most families on South Whidbey.

My son started 9th grade this year and I feel more confident about him having a positive high school experience because Marnie has been on the school board and I hope will continue to be.
