Editor,

Voters in Island County have the opportunity to elect as Island County commissioner the highly qualified Karla Jacks. With a bachelor of arts degree and a masters’ of business administration, she has worked in leadership positions for major companies, including Marriott and Boeing, as director of food services and as financial operations specialist.

Her family roots run deep on both Whidbey and Camano islands. As a mother, she worked on parent teacher association fundraising projects and is currently director of the Camano Center with senior services and other community activities.

Karla was honored in 2009 as the Stanwood/Camano Island Woman of the Year.

In Karla Jacks, we have a candidate who has the compassion, training, and energy to help us build an Island County government that is caring, effective, and fiscally responsible.
