LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Kudos to the team

To the editor:

On behalf of our board of directors and staff, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all who helped to support Whidbey Children’s Theater’s most recent production, “Last Exit.”

Thanks to producer Barbara Walker, who followed through on her dream of bringing this important play to Whidbey Island, inspirational director Lani Brockman, high-energy assistant director Erick Westphal, stage manager Emily Dunn Wilder, tech wizard Rod Stewart, dedicated facilitators from the Island County Children’s Commission (Dan Bond, Margie Forbes, Rod Merrell, Janice O’Mahoney, Cynthia Shelton, Carol Stillian and Bess Windecker-Nelson), our dynamite youth actors (Ethan Berkley, Jennifer Davenport, Evan Elwell, Allie Firth, Nicole Fjelsted, Sommer Harris, Dinah Hassrick, Gina Knox, Kim McLean, Athena Michaeledes, Eric Sundquist, Eric Vanderbilt, April Wilhelm, Thunder Woodworth and Jenny Zisette), our tremendous team of volunteers, and many others too numerous to capture here.

The play was hugely successful in achieving its mission, which was not only to entertain, but to educate and inspire meaningful dialogue between teens, parents, educators and the community at large.

We have had extremely positive feedback from our patrons, and will continue to provide these types of quality educational, collaborative programs through WCT.

It is a joy and a pleasure to be part of a close-knit community that works together to support the healthy development of our children and teens.

We hope to see you this summer at WCT during Choochokam Arts and the Island County Fair.
