My husband and I were participants in the weekend June 28 and 29 campout at M-Bar-C Ranch.

The event was a fundraiser for M-Bar-C and HOPE. A highlight of the weekend was a beach ride on Bush Point. This was a special ride, since there is very little beach access for horses on Whidbey Island and in general.

Because of concerns voiced by the neighbors about contaminating the beach with horse manure, a cleanup crew followed the riders. We handed out brochures to explain our presence. We wish to thank the local residents who greeted us with enthusiasm as we rode. We especially want to express our gratitude to the Farmer family for allowing us access through their beach property. M-Bar-C and HOPE are wonderful organizations whose sole mission is to help children in a variety of ways.
