Letter: Warnings of runaway socialism under Biden-Harris seem empty

Editor,

After two letters to the editor from Ed Hickey, I am compelled to respond with some observations of Mr. Hickey’s charges and assumptions of the newly elected federal administration.

Mr. Hickey continues the same Trump-prompted laments about the socialistic wave that will supposedly sweep our country with a Biden-Harris administration.

Just as our current president has not been able to promote his dictatorial agenda, his laments of mistreatment and “fake news” do not seem to subside, and there has been no mention by him or any of his followers of trying to mend the divide he has caused during the last four years.

Mr. Hickey’s warnings about runaway socialism in a Biden-Harris administration seem empty when our current leader has sidled up to Kim Jong Un and Vladimir Putin, who strangely are the only world leaders not to acknowledge the Biden-Harris victory.

Mr. Hickey, if we do not let go of these tired accusations soon, we will continue to be a country divided and end up losing respect around the world.
