Letter: Whidbey Growlers protect us from Chinese threat

Editor,

China is the largest manufacturer and supplier of U.S. products.

Did you know?

China is building its navy rapidly and will expand to 400 ships and submarines by 2025 with plans to soon after being a world power.

The 2022 National Security Strategy identifies the People’s Republic of China as the only competitor with the intent and an increasing capacity to reshape the international order.

China has stepped up their plan to invade and take over our allied country Taiwan to 2025.

Loss of Taiwan will mean the loss of the Taiwan straits and hinder the supply chain to Japan.

U.S. will likely press allies like South Korea to be ready for a conflict with China over Taiwan.

China and Russia have joined forces and probably the third communist country in the far east, North Korea, is or will be in that alliance soon.

Recently Russian and Chinese bombers conducted a joint patrol over the Sea of Japan causing Japan to scramble jets.

U.S. manufacturing and purchases provide the dollars to allow China to build its military to one day confront the U.S.

Naval Air Station Whidbey plays a major role in reminding China, Russia and North Korea we are the world power. If you hear the Growlers touch and go near Coupeville, they are headed to a carrier, moving into harm’s way, to combat this new type of cold war.

For the small group trying to shut down the outlying field because of the noise you agreed to when you bought your property, consider moving instead of attacking our military. Don’t take their focus from the threats we all face. We don’t want to learn Chinese in a few years.
