I would like to thank Island County Commissioner Jill Johnson for her leadership in ensuring that the Congress-approved CARES funding reaches the local businesses that were impacted during the COVID-19 shutdown.

In partnership with the City of Oak Harbor, moneys will be made available for small business grants. Other districts will receive equal amounts of county funding and the programs will be overseen by the commissioners from that region.

It is nice to see the city and county working together on behalf of our community, and I am thankful again for Commissioner Jill Johnson and her relentless insistence that we put the needs of our communities first.
