LETTERS TO THE EDITOR | ‘Outsider’ should be seen

I highly recommend a viewing of the play currently showing at WICA called “Outsider,” written and directed by Gail Fleming. We enjoyed it last Friday and I will choose the words provocative, surprising, reflective and musical to answer “How was it?”

To the editor:

I highly recommend a viewing of the play currently showing at WICA called “Outsider,” written and directed by Gail Fleming. We enjoyed it last Friday and I will choose the words provocative, surprising, reflective and musical to answer “How was it?”

The acting is strong, and the set, which moves between enticing woodland nooks, an office and a living room draws the audience into ongoing intimacy with the characters. The songs and choreography integrate well into the play’s thesis and intimate mood.

The theme of communication between species eats away at our rigid hypotheses about how the world works. The artwork in the lobby is a beautiful extension of the play. Treat yourself to community theater at its most evocative on Saturday, Aug. 4, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 5, at WICA.
