Plan to launch new series with Goosefoot grant

Editor,

We were pleased to see the recognition of Goosefoot Community Foundation in your recent article on Jan. 10. Sound Water Stewards was proud to be a partner and a recipient of Goosefoot investments in our community. Sound Water Stewards believes in a healthy Puget Sound environment defined by diverse natural ecosystems and sustainable human communities.

We train and support volunteers working in and around Island County to provide education and outreach, citizen science and stewardship.

The support from Goosefoot Community Foundation will support our volunteer training program, our annual Sound Waters University and our community education and outreach. With their support, we plan to launch an additional Lyceum series on South Whidbey. We want to thank Goosefoot and their supporters for their investment in our community and we congratulate the other recipients as well.
