Filmmakers and whale experts will be on hand at the Clyde Theatre later this month as the movie house screens the documentary “The Whale” — the story of Luna, the young male orca who found his way solo to Nootka Sound in British Columbia, where he adopted some humans as his “pod.”
The film will be shown Oct. 21-24, and on opening night, Michael Parfit and Suzanne Chisholm, who directed, shot, wrote and edited the film, will be at the Clyde to talk about Luna and the making of the film after the 7:30 p.m. Friday showing.
Orca Network naturalists and whale experts Susan Berta and Howard Garrett will also be at the theater after both the 5 and 7:30 p.m. shows on Saturday, Oct. 22 to answer questions about whale behavior.
“The Whale” recently opened to rave reviews after a successful run on the festival circuit. More information and a trailer can be found at www.thewhalemovie.com or at The Clyde’s Facebook page or website.
