Gallery goes Medieval for opening gala | GALLERIES

MUSEO gallery’s eighth special winter exhibition of Medieval begins in Langley this weekend.

MUSEO gallery’s eighth special winter exhibition of Medieval begins in Langley this weekend.

The work in the gallery this year is inspired by medieval times, from the 5th to 15th centuries. More than 40 Whidbey artists were called to create works reminiscent of the Middle Ages.

Each year the gallery features a different theme for viewers to enjoy and dress up for, said Sandra Hart Logan of MUSEO.

“It gets pretty wild,” she said. “The town fills up … because it’s an unusual exhibit.”

The opening gala will feature performing arts, wine, food and in tune with the theme, mead.

Viewers are welcome to dress in their best chain mail, petticoats or other timely outfits for the opening gala from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 at MUSEO, 215 First St., Langley.

The exhibit will run through Feb. 24.
