Langley’s fourth annual Oktoberfest kicks off at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1 with music, brats, beer and games.

The Langley Chamber Beer Garden will be in the Useless Bay Coffee Co. garden with Diamond Knot’s Vienna Ale on tap. Collectible beer steins will be available for

$10 and will include the purchaser’s first round. The stein can also be used to purchase special items/services throughout town over Oktoberfest weekend.

The Lion’s Club will be serving up its authentic Bavarian Meats brats, while the 10-piece Bavarian Village Band will get the crowd into the fun. Local emcee Jim Freeman will host the beer games from 3 to

6 p.m. on the bocce court and will host the first-ever “So You Think You Can Yodel” contest. There will be German trivia games for prizes all day. The coveted Restaurant Trophy will be on the line again this year as servers from the area race against each other in the obstacle course.

Langley’s merchants will also host the Langley Experience Giveaway. Participants need to spend $10 or more in any shop to get entered into the giveaway. For each $10 spent, shoppers get a giveaway ticket. The giveaway includes overnight stays, dinners and more.
