Lions Garage sale adapts to pandemic; resumes donation pickups

The Coupeville Lions Club has resumed pick-ups of garage sale donations after a pandemic hiatus.

Items being accepted are those that were sold during last summer’s online garage sale.

Because of the pandemic, the two-day annual sale was replaced by a summer-long online sale.

Items offered for sale were limited to larger items and plants because of logistics.

Each week, sale items were listed on Facebook and the Lion’s Club website. Items that were sold during the week were picked up on Saturday mornings at Coupeville Elementary School, where social distancing was enforced.

As a result of not being able to sell many of the smaller items in storage, the storage areas remain quite full.

The club did clear out all the furniture, appliances, mowers, plants and other selected items. The Lions are now able to accept such items and a complete donation list is available on the Club website.

Collections will continue until storage is full.

The 2021 Annual Lions Club Garage Sale plans for this coming summer are uncertain.

Lion President Rick Walti is holding out hope for a return to a full-blown, two-day extravaganza, but the club is also preparing plan-B arrangements for a second online summer sale.

Pickup scheduling are available on the website or by calling 360-678-4105.
