Lucky survey respondents might win pie

Langley Creates is running an online survey about South Whidbey artists.

Complete a survey, maybe win a pie.

Langley Creates, the city’s creative district, will be awarding pies to a few lucky individuals who fill out an online survey about South Whidbey artists.

Musicians, dancers, thespians, sculptors, painters, photographers, computer programmers, graphic designers, crafters, writers and all other creative types are encouraged to participate in the brief questionnaire, which can be accessed via the website, langleycreates.org/survey.

Survey participants can enter a drawing to win a pie from Langley-based Wild Crow Pies. Langley Creates will continue to choose pie winners over the next several months.

The survey is designed to assess how the creative district can best support artists to earn a good income.

Part of Langley Creates’ mission is to provide economic opportunities for creative people and to promote their work.

The creative district was established in 2020.

A creative district is a “geographically defined area of cultural and economic activity,” according to the website for the state’s program, arts.wa.gov/creative-districts.

There are currently only eight other creative districts in the state that have been certified, including Port Townsend, Edmonds and Issaquah.
