We did above awesome.The team toured the 9-holes in a combined total of 196 strokes, which Heggenes believes is a team record for the Falcons. In doing so, they easily outdistanced league-leading Lynden Christian while solidifying their hold on second place in the North Cascades Conference.We put a serious spanking on Lynden Christian, Heggenes said.In team scoring, South Whidbey won with 196, followed by Lynden Christian with 212, Mount Baker 222, Meridian 224, Blaine 231, Lakewood 236, and Nooksack Valley 246.Individually, Falcon freshman Jeff Strong with the day’s medalist with a one-under-par 34. He birdied holes 1 and 7, bogeyed number 2, and parred the rest. I like that kind of consistency, said Heggenes.The rest of the Falcons weren’t far behind. Alec Osenbach scored 38, Reed Dettrich 41, Andy Heintz 41, and Chuck Applebee 42. Dettrich’s 41 came despite recording an 8 on one hole.In other action this week, the Falcons played Tuesday at Shuksan in a match hosted by Meridian. Lynden Christian won with 212 followed by Mount Baker at 219, South Whidbey 221, Meridian 224, Blaine 224, Lakewood 244, and Nooksack Valley 256.For the Falcons, Osenbach scored 42, Strong 43, Dettrich 45, Heintz 45, and Bryce Hansen 45.Next week the Falcons are on the road in matches hosted by Mount Baker and Blaine. “
