Some of the names may ring a bell with local residents. Hazel Clyde Dahlgren is 95 years old and lives in Stanwood. Nancy Campbell used to live at the holly farm on Sunlight Beach. Bob Darst and Jim Fairbrooks (wife Doris) were both teachers in the Langley schools, as was Jan Hedgcock Erikson, who still lives by Deer Lake.Old church records tend to be scant, as the Centennial Committee of Langley United Methodist Church has discovered. The committee requests that any longtime residents of South Whidbey (or their families) contact the church office, 221-1686, if they have memorabilia or old photos pertaining to the church.Centennial festivities being planned for the coming months include Heritage Sunday, April 29; Hymn Sing, May 20; and Strawberry Festival, June 24; more gathering and celebrating, August 11-12.
