Lunch will be served.The group meets at the Langley United Methodist Church at 3rd and Anthes. St. Hubert holds Jubilee Preparation parish retreatFr. David Centner, of the Order of Discalced Carmelites, will visit St. Hubert Catholic Church in Langley this Saturday, Nov. 20, to conduct a Jubilee Preparation Retreat on the subject, “What the spirit says to the church at the even of the Millennium.”The retreat begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. A Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m., followed by a 12:30 p.m. potluck. A silver offering will be accepted.Fr. Centner’s retreat is built around some basic messages in the Book of Revelation, “emphasizing trusting in God’s plan for us, being faithful to the Gospel message in practical ways, hastening the coming of the kingdom which is, in fact, already among us,” he said. He will also link up the vision of heavenly worship found in the Book of Revelation with the worship now in the church’s liturgy.For more information call St. Hubert’s at 221-5383.Special service honors the earthIn a special Thanksgiving service at Unity of Whidbey on Nov. 21, participants will share poems, stories and songs of thanksgiving for the earth and all of nature.In a circle of thanksgiving, everyone will “create the worship experience” in the moment, according to Unity’s spiritual leader Mary Knight-Burdsal. Participants are invited to share by reading, singing, telling stories, drumming, or simply sharing their presence within the circle.All ages are welcome to participate. Unity of Whidbey meets on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. at Bayview Hall.”
